For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Aubade is joining forces with Ruban Rose to support women’s health and raise awareness around breast cancer. At the heart of the initiative is the French Maison’s post-operative lingerie, specially developed to meet the needs of women following breast surgery and updated this season with a new, expressive shade of red.
The post-operative line was developed in collaboration with Aubade’s design team, Juliette Moreau, a physiotherapist specialising in senology, and a group of women who have themselves been affected by breast cancer. Camille and Sylvane, the faces of the campaign who have both experienced breast cancer, were also closely involved throughout the development process. The styles were tested and refined together with affected women to combine elegance, functionality and comfort.
Both post-operative bra styles are wire-free and provide comfortable, reassuring support. Special integrated pockets accommodate external textile or silicone breast prostheses, while soft, breathable and quick-drying fabrics have been carefully selected for contact with sensitive skin. Italian Lycra® jacquard lace combines the functional qualities of the designs with Aubade’s signature aesthetic. Particular attention was also paid to scars and the changes the body may experience following surgery. Cuts, seams and materials were developed accordingly and tested together with women affected by breast cancer.
Through its long-standing support of Ruban Rose, Aubade connects the post-operative line with a broader commitment to breast cancer awareness and research. The French organisation works to raise awareness around breast cancer and funds research into the disease.
At the heart of Aubade’s approach is the same idea that shaped the development of the line from the beginning: accompanying women through different stages of life and physical changes with lingerie that allows them to feel not only comfortable, but also beautiful and confident.
