As the ballet core fashion trend continues, silk specialists Pongees will be highlighting its tulles and chiffons, alongside top-selling lingerie fabrics such as a crepe backed stretch satin, at next month’s Textile Forum (13-14 March, One Marylebone, London).
While business is not yet anywhere near back to the level it was pre-COVID, it is slowly improving. At recent overseas shows we saw more buyers compared with last season. At Interfiliere, for example, we met a great cross section from across Europe, the US and Africa. We are hoping that Textile Forum will deliver on the domestic market. As costs remains a concern, we continue to promote our EU delivery service, whereby customers with a VAT/EORI number can receive their orders fast and free of additional import charges, as pre-Brexit.”

From response to its collection in Paris, Pongees is expecting lingerie designers to be sourcing reds, such as sienna, wine and burgundy, plus shades of green and yellow.
To help with fabric and colour decisions, Pongees has now collated all its shade cards into a full catalogue, its most popular fabrics into a core catalogue and there is a bespoke option for customers who want to create their own personal fabric reference guide. Individual shade cards and swatches are still available.
