That’s why on this day AIKYOU will be bringing together support groups, communities and women who have already had their breast implants removed under the hashtag #EXPLANTDAY on social media. #EXPLANTDAY is intended to become a pool of information: a platform for support, encouragement and exchange.
There are several reasons for removing breast implants: implant safety, displacements, breast implant diseases like BII and BIA-ALCL or a change in body image. Women often have their breasts enlarged wishing to conform to a supposed ideal of beauty, and as initiators of Explant Day it is a matter of the heart for AIKYOU to encourage women that they continue seeing themselves as beautiful and feminine after an explantation. The brand also wants to reach out to women who are currently considering getting implants because their small breasts don’t correspond to the general beauty ideal, motivating them to think twice about such a serious intervention in their healthy body.
