Paris Undressed!

by Underlines

Thinking of Paris this weekend this book is a great read in the spirit of ‘French Women Don’t Get Fat’ and ‘Bringing up Bébé’ written by Kathryn Kemp-Griffin and illustrated by Paloma Casile, both experienced women in the world of lingerie.

Kathryn Kemp-Griffin is a journalist and entrepreneur – living in Paris and working in the lingerie industry since 1990 (she started her own lingerie company, Soyelle, which specialised in accessories and beauty products) before founding Paris Lingerie Tours. In 2009 she founded Pink Bra Bazaar, a charitable organisation dedicated to breast health education and supporting women with breast cancer. Originally born in Canada, she lives in an old millhouse outside of Paris with her husband, five children and assorted pets! Paloma Casile who graduated top of her class from ESMOD Paris, apprenticed with Chantel Thomass and Cadolle, before designing her line of eponymous lingerie.

Credited as an essential read “for all women who have ever wanted more from their lingerie” the book aims to reveal the history of our modern day lingerie, the appeal of good lingerie and how women can create their own lingerie wardrobe that will make them more confident and at home in their bodies. Both factual and humorous it takes the reader on a tour of the ‘anatomy’ of a bra, knowing your silhouette and finally a grand Paris tour of lingerie shopping in the capital.

For everyone who thinks they know the lingerie world and for those who would like to know more!
