Something Wicked expands for future success

by Underlines

Provocative lingerie brand, Something Wicked, is experiencing phenomenal success having secured seven new listings in the last three months. The adventurous boudoir lingerie brand was taken over by Steff McGrath last year and has doubled its target for wholesale in the last six months, having recently secured a listing in London’s Coco De Mer and Dolci Follie, which sells certain products through Farfetch.

Steff McGrath explains: “We’ve achieved so much in the last year, the website revamp, creation of shoppable videos and new innovative product ranges have been the key drivers of our growth. We’re delighted with our listings success so far as we’ve exceeded initial expectations. We’re currently in discussions with John Lewis and were selected to present our collection to its panel of eight buyers only last week.”

All designs and manufacturing happens where the brand was born, in a studio in the heart of Leeds. Yorkshire designers have created three of the latest ranges with a team of local seamstresses and garment technicians creating the finished pieces. “What sets us apart from our competitors is our production process. From idea to creation, we make to demand and manufacture everything here in our studio,” says Steff. “We’ve created some great partnerships, including working with an independent bee keeper in London who provides us with our exclusive organic wax blend, enabling us to maintain the highest level of care for intimate leather products. Our female saddler makes all our accessories from our range of hand cuffs to the seductive Nina Tassel using luxury saddlery leather.”

Each piece is made with a single customer in mind, allowing the fast-growing lingerie brand to be reactive. Recently it made the first ever prototype one cup bra for a customer who had had a mastectomy, following on from breast cancer treatment. Something Wicked will showcase its latest collection at the upcoming Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris.
