by Underlines

The Swimwear Barcelona trade show strengthens its professional programme with a new Spring/Summer 2028 Trend Forum and a series of conferences addressing Artificial Intelligence, European regulation and the transformation of the industry.

Anticipating the trends that will shape upcoming collections and examining some of the changes transforming the industry will be two of the main focuses of the fifth edtion of Swimwear Barcelona, taking place on 30 September and 1 October at the World Trade Center Barcelona.

This year, the trade show is expanding its professional content with the launch of a Spring/Summer 2028 Trend Forum and a series of conferences dedicated to issues directly affecting the present and future of the industry. With this new programme, the event aims to complement its commercial offering with spaces for inspiration, analysis and industry insight, providing brands, designers, buyers and sourcing professionals with tools to interpret both emerging creative directions and the evolving swimwear, beachwear and sportswear business.

A new Spring/Summer 2028 Trend Forum
One of the key new features will be the launch of the Trend Forum, developed in collaboration with specialist magazine CyL Moda Íntima, media partner of Swimwear Barcelona. Conceived as a space for inspiration and consulation, the Forum will bring together a curated selection of fabrics, trims, accessories and textile developments provided by the exhibiting
companies themselves, highligting some of the trends set to shape Spring/Summer 2028 collections. The aim is to offer visitors a concise visual overview of the materials, finishes, innovations and creative directions showcased at the event.

Each sample will be identified with the participating company and its location within the trade show, enabling visitors to move seamlessly from inspiration to direct business contact with the supplier. The Forum will therefore also serve as a practical tool for discovering companies, identifying new suppliers and planning a visit around the proposals most relevant to each professional.

From Artificial Intelligence to the Digital Product Passport
Industry transforma%on will also take centre stage in the professional conference programme, addressing three key areas from different perspectives: technology, regulation and specialist industry knowledge.

Anna Blanco, Creative Director of Monday&Co, will open the programme with “AI Applied to Swimwear Design: From Concept to Photoshoot in Hours”. The conference will explore how Artificial Intelligence tools are reshaping creative processes and the possibilities they offer, from the initial development of a collection through to the creation of images and campaigns.
The changing European regulatory landscape will be addressed by Marcos Pizarro, Managing Director of Venus, with “Digital Product Passport: From Regulatory Requirement to Competitive Advantage”. The conference will examine the impact of this new requirement and how companies can turn regulatory compliance into an opportunity for differentiation and value creation.

Finally, Jordi Pons of AcceforModa will present “We Don’t Make Fashion… We Are Fashion”, reflecting on the evolution of the industry, the importance of specialist knowledge and the role played by the different stakeholders throughout the value chain.

Business, knowledge and inspiration in Barcelona

This new programme will complement the commercial offering of the fifth edition of Swimwear Barcelona, taking place on 30 September and 1 October at the World Trade Center Barcelona, with more than 40 exhibiting companies and over 70 collections for the swimwear, beachwear and sportswear sectors. The event will once again bring together brands, manufacturers, designers, buyers and sourcing professionals in Barcelona, combining commercial opportunities, trends and specialist content under one roof.

Barcelona naturally brings together creativity, business and international reach. Swimwear Barcelona reflects this iden<ty through a professional and highly specialised environment designed to connect the textile industry with the opportunities of the future.”
