The Belize Spring/Summer 2021 collection pays homage to the brand’s long love affair with 1960’s cinema. The era’s sepia-washed cinematography sets the perfect background for Belize’s classic lines and timeless silhouettes, transporting its effortlessly chic muse back to summers past in the Riviera.
This inspiration for the collection comes from the spirit of Micheal Winner’s “The System”, where Oliver Reed plays a seductive photographer in a picturesque seaside town, combined with the charisma of Catherine Deneuve in the technicolour musical “Umbrellas of Cherbourg”. Deneuve’s ice cream coloured wardrobe became the foundations of this season’s designs, in a colour palette of fuchsia, cherry red, toffee, pale aqua, denim, azure, black and ivory, encapsulating the feel of Summers in Sicily and Greece.
Belize draws references from heritage garments and prints from around the world and has sourced a global network of craftsmen to ensure the highest possible quality and a truly international approach. The finish, as well as the perfect fit, are crucial to the label, and they rely on the very best Italian crepes, silk, cotton and wools as well as uniquely designed fabrics and prints.
