The Louisa Bracq Autumn/Winter 2020 collection is an ode to femininity and nature, or rather a tribute to the link that women have with nature. Through references to ancestral pagan cults and more recently through the interest women have for both their mental and physical balance. Nature is at the center of our priorities – many causes for animal welfare and for the planet are involved, as well as alternative medicine through treatment with plants.
The first theme, ‘Claddagh’, was inspired by the Claddagh ring, the Alliance or traditional Irish engagement ring. It symbolizes love from the heart, friendship from the hands and loyalty from the crown. Interpreted as a vintage tattoo with wings and heart embroidered tone on tone with a black gloss thread. ‘Gypsy Trip’ features a cashmere print theme without embroidery, inspired by the Persian mystical and folk universe. The v-neck body without underwire perfectly shows the inspiration of the theme with its drapes over the neckline, always in that trompe l’oeil effect suggesting the twisted fabric.
‘Divine’ is inspired by reptile motifs with a 3-tone monochrome mosaic embroidery that reveals this inspiration in a movement of mesmerising curves. A luxurious silk jacquard is carrying this embroidery and for the first time Louisa Bracq, also offer a pyjama set comprised of jacket and trousers in a silk mélange. The ‘Jodie’ line is inspired by the heroines of Helmut Newton with its minimal look without embroidery. Being at the same time functional, resistant and soft, ‘Josie’ proves that even in lingerie the simplicity is second to none.
‘Julia’ is the epicentre of the brand’s achievements, a perfectly finished, comfortable product offering support and timeless style for everyday wear. The embroidery with vertical curves evoking leaf patterns celebrate femininity, and the jacquard fabric used was developed exclusively for Louisa Bracq. This season the ‘Élise’ theme appears in a new emerald colour reminiscent of the natural world of vast winter forests. The embroidered palmettes are set with an iridescent thread with scarab reflections. Last but not least, the ‘Série’ embroidery with its leather straps look and herringbone patterns is making a comeback this season in the new sapphire colourway.
