Contemporary womenswear trade show Scoop closed its doors last week celebrating a highly successful show with a record number of visitors. Held at the iconic Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London, the show presented an exclusive AW19 showcase of the most sought-after collections and edits from emerging international designers, many of whom selected Scoop as their launch pad. Karen Radley, Founder and Managing Director of Scoop commented: “I am extremely proud that a number of designers have selected Scoop as a platform to launch their collections this season. Scoop is a wonderful show and offers leading retailers a curated edit of the very best new designer collections.”
The show celebrated an impressive line-up of new faces including premium collections from Ossie Clark x Primrose Park, PS Paul Smith, Edward Mongzar, Olivia and Pearl, Gary James McQueen and Recognition Jewellery. Launching exclusively at the show Ossie Clark x Primrose Park presented a beautiful collection of dresses, blouses and skirts in the iconic Ossie Clark cuts such as plunging necklines, billowing sleeves, figure-hugging waists, and swirling skirts.
Channelling the fashion genius of his late uncle Lee Alexander McQueen, Gary James McQueen presented an exquisite range of made-to-order silk printed scarves which draw inspiration from, and pay tribute to, his experience working alongside his uncle. McQueen presented the collection and an artistic installation featuring his iconic artwork during the show and discussed his career with Caryn Franklin MBE during an inspirational talk to buyers and retailers.
This season Scoop collaborated with the V&A to celebrate the opulent floral prints of 19th-century textile designer William Kilburn. The entrance to the show was dressed in the beautiful print and lined with a floral display making a popular Instagram backdrop for visitors. The next edition of Scoop will take place on 21st – 23rd July 2019 at the Saatchi Gallery, London.
