Underlines Magazine is delighted to present just some of the designs from De Montfort University‘s (BA Honours) Contour Fashion Degree course.
This year the design brief was set by global online fashion store, ASOS.com, in October 2017, followed up by a mentoring day and final judging. Kitty Daler-Finch won the top prize of a paid, month-long placement at ASOS HQ in Camden, working alongside their lingerie and nightwear designers. Her inspiration for the red lace lingerie outfits came from the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
Runner-ups were Katia Tastagh with her athleisure garments and Phoebe Moule with her luminous contour outfits (both will get mentoring from the ASOS team for their final year portfolio and visit to ASOS) with commendations given to Maddie Weston and Sam Carney.
Rachel Toner, Senior Lecturer at DMU, commented: “It’s the first time ASOS have been involved with us in this way and they gave the students a really open brief which didn’t restrict them in any way.”
The De Montfort Graduate Show will be held in London on 7th June (by invitation only).
