Drawing on folk stories from China and Europe, MENG‘s Spring/Summer 2017 collection celebrates personal freedom and the natural world through intricately printed silk pyjamas, kimonos, robes and kaftans. The Eastern princess, coveted for her beauty in the gilded cage of the Emperor’s palace, breaks the bounds of ritual to join with the sky, the air and nature.
The brand’s original hand-drawn artworks bloom into life as prints and jacquard weaves featuring cherry blossoms, song birds, polka dots and psychedelic chrysanthemums, in a stunning colour palette including deep burgundy and teal, cream, silver grey, terracotta red and rose. Fabrics include silk jacquard, smooth silk satin and sheer georgette, and pieces are framed with contrast colour and print edgings and linings.
