Bond-Eye which is designed and handmade in Australia, was founded in 2011 by Steve Philipott. The company has its headquarters in Sydney and is named after that most iconic of Australian beaches – Bondi Beach. The brand embodies the Australian summer spirit with considered and flattering silhouettes in high-quality fabrics using tubular knit construction which allows four-way stretch and recovery whilst maintaining its body-hugging shape.
Well established in its home market, the brand started exploring export markets a few years ago and has already gained a strong following in leading US retailers in a very short space of time. More recent attention has been given to European markets and this year the company appointed Intimates Lingerie as their representatives in the UK and Ireland.
The swimwear under the Bond-eye label is unique in a number of ways. With its tubular bound crinkle fabric it is designed to fit size XS through to L (with all shapes and sizes in between) and the unique stretch means bikini tops and one-piece swimsuits can fit A-DD/E cup sizes. Likewise the fabric means that most bikini bottoms can be worn either low, mid or high rise providing ultimate flexibility for both the retailer and the end consumer.
The Core Collection consists of five colourways in timeless silhouettes (black, Baywatch red, optic white, khaki and cobalt). Made from regenerated nylon, these core shapes are the proven bestsellers and are non-seasonal swim staples. Shimmer features incredible soft handle and luxurious shine in glamorous 70’s inspired cuts where a premium high filament yarn is knitted in the fabric and for extra appeal a gold Lurex thread is woven throughout the waffle knit construction, giving a subtle glimmer.
The Jacquard Knit range has a tiger jacquard and palm jacquard design projecting striking patterns that retain their incredible softness – it features in the most iconic styles in both classic neutral shades and statement brights.
For Summer 2024 the latest collection is Splice – inspired by 80’s styles with statement zips, this represents a fresh take on classic Bond-Eye styling with bright cobalt and red contrasted by black panels in one and two-piece outfits.
The collections are subdivided into Core, Shimmer (Lurex knit) and Jacquard knit with the addition of different types of hardware to refresh the offer. For Summer 2024 their iconic range is tipped to be the Splice Series.
