Curve returns to New York this summer

by Underlines

Comexposium USA is pleased to be offering their first in-person Curve New York (Curve NY) trade event on August 1-2 after a 1-year hiatus. Known in the industry as the premier intimate apparel and lingerie event in North America, the show has moved downtown to Spring Studios, an event space home to The Tribeca Film Festival and many fashion events.

“We surveyed our buyers before planning this show and will be customising it specifically for their needs,” says Kirsten Griffin, Director of Visitor Promotion. “It was really important for us to find the right venue that would accommodate their requests for a light filled space with indoor/outdoor areas to feel safe.”

Raphael Camp, CEO of Eurovet Americas, the Fashion division of Comexposium USA, adds: “We made certain we could accommodate up to a hundred global brands in a space with clear health and safety guidelines. Spring Studios has formed a partnership with Impact Healthcare for Covid-19 Related Services and CLEAR to provide touchless and seamless screening for buyers and vendors. Curve NY will be following all New York City and CDC safety guidelines including mask-wearing and space capacity protocols. As an extra precaution, there will be plexiglass and more space between booths.”

The highlight of Curve New York will be the NPD x Curve Excellence Awards, which will recognise the outstanding work of the industry’s retailers, brand representatives and innovative labels. The first awards ceremony by NPD x Curve was held online on Curve Connect – Curve’s digital platform – in September 2020. Out of the twenty-three awards given many went to intimate apparel brands, among them the #1 Selling Bra in the U.S, the #1 Dollar Growth Average Figure Designer Brand, and #1 Digital Native Bra Brand Among Millennials. Honoured retailers received awards in Philanthropic Excellence, Lifetime Achievement & Education Excellence.

“After a year of restrictions, everyone wants something to look forward to. We feel it is especially important to acknowledge the many people in our industry working hard to make a difference. The awards ceremony also keeps our lingerie community united and brings awareness of the many outstanding accomplishments of its individuals,” says Griffin. “With the intimates market focus on product innovation, and with consumer engagement continuing to drive strong sales that outperform the overall apparel industry, it’s a wonderful time to celebrate the winners and market leaders in the industry,” according to Todd Mick, executive director of fashion apparel with The NPD Group.

The Curve team is excited to welcome the historic Van de Velde company back to the show for the first time in several years, bringing Andres Sarda, Marie Jo, and PrimaDonna to the show floor. Also new to the New York show are Ana ono, Aspen Dream, Demery Jane, Fishbelly, Kaye Larcky and Long Story Short, joined by returning brands Anita, Aubade, Calida, Chantelle, Claudel, Cosabella, Conturelle, Cupid Intimates, Dita Von Teese, Elila, Elomi, Eva Bitzer, Falke, Fantasie, Fashion Forms, Féraud, Fogal, Freya, Goddess, Gossard, Journelle, Kilo Brava, Leonisa, Maison Lejaby, Mey, MilaKrasna, Natori, Only Hearts, Playful Promises, Roma Confidential, Roesch, Simone Pérèle, Undress Code, Va bien, Valery, Verdiani and Wacoal.

There are still a few spots available for smaller brands at a lower cost as well as smaller booths. Interested brands should get in contact with the Curve team as soon as possible.
