FAST FORWARD TO THE FUTURE FABRICS EXPO!

The Sustainable Angle’s Future Fabrics Expo takes place next week at state-of-the-art venue, Magazine London (across the river from Canary Wharf).  This pioneering event (since 2011), will once again lead as the largest dedicated global sourcing destination of commercially available, sustainably and responsibly produced textiles and materials for the fashion industry. Held on the afternoon of 26th June (12noon to 6.00pm) and all day on 27th and 28th June, the Expo is also an educational platform for visitors to learn by sourcing with the aim to galvanise the industry around the critical imperatirve of sourcing responsibly and operating within planetary boundaries. The end of June 2023 may mark a real turning point as 27th-28th June are also the dates for the Global Fashion Summit held in Copenhagen.

Major international suppliers include Lenzing, Hyosung, YKK, Once More, Recyctex, Santis Textiles and many more. In all there will over 5,000 commercially available, sustainably and responsibly produced fabrics in fibre categories in the Curated Textiles Area (some 10,000 plus materials and solutions on display). Materials will include textiles from regenerative agriculture farming systems, agricultural waste, cellulosics, post-consumer recycled natural materials, certified organic cottons, low impact and regeneratively farmed woolds and animal fibres, sustainable silks, linen and hemp, responsibly produced leather and innovative alternatives to animal skins!

Curated Areas include:

Next Gen Fabrics, Here Now supported by the Laudes Foundation and powered by Canopy and Fashion For Good (highlighting the latest innovation research and opportunities);

Biodiversity Applied supported by LVMB with action-oriented projects the Group has taken to ambitiously address 3 key pillars – Regenerate, Circulate, Innovate;

Regenerative Agriculture Area – demonstrating and showcasing how the fashion supply chain can create positive impacts in biodiversity, climate change and soil health through regenerative outcomes.

Forgotten Fibres featuring Fibral (The Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp) and a dedicated Hemp Hub.

The partnership with Parley for the Ocean continues in the Innovation Hub which features emerging, cutting-edge materials and technologies.
