The story of Phuket Mermaids began when Nuria Stuart, while moving from the snowy mountains of Andorra to the tropical Thai island of Phuket, noticed that something was missing. In a country renowned for its paradisiacal beaches and turquoise blue seas, there was little in terms of elegant and alluring swimwear that matched that beauty. She then decided to launch a new swimwear brand, and after two years of hard work Nuria opened the Phuket Mermaids boutique in December 2004. A day later, the devastating tsunami which caused massive destruction all over South-east Asia, took with it a big part of the Phuket island and a lot of what she had been working for.
A decade later, Phuket Mermaids has become one of the most distinguished Asian fashion brands, appealing to many women with its quality, elegance, attention to details and comfort.
