On Thursday 14th and Friday 15th July 2016, The Lingerie Edit opened its doors at The Savoy Hotel in London to welcome international buyers and press, showcasing Spring/Summer 2017 collections from 45 specially selected lingerie, lounge and swimwear brands. Key buyers from the UK, Dubai, Iceland, Romania, Moscow, Italy, Japan, Beijing and Australia attended the show, including many mid to high-end stores such as ASOS, Brown Thomas, Coco de Mer, Fenwick Bond Street, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and Dolci Follie.
TLE organisers were delighted with the feedback from visitors and are already re-signing up brands for the January show. Event Manager Tamar Kendall said: “Our point of difference from other trade fairs is that we have a far more intimate showroom feel, which creates an appealing setting for buyers to attend. As we move deeper into the digital age it can be hard to prize buyers away from their desks and into a selling arena. The Savoy is so easily accessible and relaxed, with free refreshments on offer so I think we provide an all-round more enjoyable experience for visitors.”
As always, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite brand from the show and for the fourth time Loveday London claimed the title of ‘Best Brand’. Buyers complimented the independent label on how beautifully curated the brand is, creating a complete lifestyle with their collection of lingerie, loungewear, candles and soft furnishings. Debuting brand Inamorata which launched to trade at the latest TLE event also received recognition with visiting buyers and press who selected the boudoir label to win ‘Best New Brand’.
Both brands will receive a free stand at the next The Lingerie Edit, as part of the show’s continued efforts to support the intimates industry and new labels.
