On August 4th, The Best of Intima magazine held the 9th edition of its annual gala awards ceremony, The Best of Intima Awards, to honour North America’s most accomplished independent retailers in the intimate apparel, beachwear and loungewear sectors. This annual event is one of the lingerie industry’s most awaited and important functions; some of most influential and prominent names in the field gathered for cocktails and a sit-down, 3-course meal with live accompanying jazz music, which was provided for a total of around 200 invited guests.
This year over 200 nominations put forward by the distinguished jury panel – comprised of representatives from some of the world’s most renowned intimate apparel brands – were taken into consideration before arriving at 33 finalists in five categories: Concept Store, European Flair, Reference Shop, Personal Touch and finally, The Best of Intima’s Choice, for those shops that won the hearts of the editors, regardless of the jury’s votes. Robert Vitale, President of Wacoal America, opened this year’s ceremony, followed by a welcome speech given by the Editor-in-Chief and CEO the Best of Intima, Francesca Spinetta.
