The De Montfort Medical Forum met last week as a collection of experts and specialists. The podcast from their first round table discussion is available here.
Once again we have completed Breast Cancer Awareness month and still, the facts are shocking. Reports suggest that less women attended screening appointments last year than the previous one and yet the numbers, particularly those in younger women continue to rise. The facts are these; every 10 minutes, 2 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s 150 cases daily. This is something to be taken seriously. Your life could depend upon it.
Cancer is a terrifying challenge to anyone. I hope that this podcast in support of BCA Month will offer a first-hand understanding of the experience, allay some of the concerns and fears and underline the promise that we as an industry are facing this in the form of the DMU Medical Forum. My thanks go out to our Forum partners for their foresight in helping to change the future of this disease and others.
