Belle Lingerie, British lingerie retailer, has sought to combat the ongoing cost of living crisis with on trend wearable blankets, as businesses are faced with eyewatering estimates for energy bill.
The fun initiative (well for most of the wearers here!! – see gent on far right) stems from MD, Janine Dutton’s, devotion to a fun and entertaining workplace (along with desperate attempts to find ways to prevent office staff turning the heating up to Barbados style temperatures). She comments: “After a rocky two years during the pandemic, we are now faced with the doom and gloom of increased energy bills. I really wanted to come up with an energy-saving hack that would lighten the mood amongst staff. With two warehouses to heat through the winter, I stumbled upon these wearable blankets, and laughed to myself, envisioning the team wandering around draped in pandas, dogs, cats and even fast food – I knew I had to make it happen.”
One member from the product admin was heard to say “The best part was watching colleagues through the office window bickering over who would get to wear the unicorn print.” Head of Marketing and E-commerce, Adam Dutton, expressed his concerns on the initiative, “the management team will need to conduct hourly checks to ensure colleagues have not fallen asleep on the job.”
