Buoyant first day for Pure and Scoop at Olympia

by Underlines

Pure London got off to a cracking start yesterday and for this season was co-located with everyone”s favourite contemporary designer show, Scoop. The catwalk show at Pure London held 3 times a day was mobbed on each occasion with buyers and visitors hungry for the latest trends for SS2023 – and it was all about colour! Yellow still very much in evidence but blends of mango & pink, lime, sea and neon green, striking contrasts of brights added to the mix – all promising a more positive and optimistic future.

Gloria Sandrucci, Event Director, Pure London says:

“Day one has been overwhelmingly positive. Since the doors opened this morning, the aisles have been buzzing with buyers. Exhibitors are reporting brisk trade and have been really positive about the return of the show, and buyers have loved being back. We launched Pure Jewel this season and the area has been busy all day.”

Looking ahead to February 2023, Pure London announced the launch of two new sectors – Purely Sustainable and Pure Edge.

Purely Sustainable will spotlight sustainable brands and drive positive change. It has been launched to help the fashion community navigate this growing priority, push for progress, and support the industry in its sustainability journey. Rather than tell brands and retailers how to be sustainable, Purely Sustainable will support them on their individual journeys, recognising that the shift to sustainability is not an easy one, with many challenges. Progress is achieved in different ways and at different paces for each business, however every brand has a responsibility to create change through collaboration and community, and Purely Sustainable is driving this progress.

Firmly rooted in inclusivity and diversity and offering innovative, creative collections, Pure Edge launches at the UK’s leading trade fashion buying event, Pure London, in February 2023. Standing firmly left of centre, exhibitors will be independent, unapologetic and diverse, and proudly embrace difference in all its glory and offering bold collections that make a statement, embrace inclusivity, and demand zero-judgement.

Scoop London

Scoop London located right beside Pure London offered its  enticing blend of designer womenswear and resort wear (always in big demand at the July event), shoes and accessories. Regular exhibitors such as Devotion Twins were joined by newbies such as Stripe & Stare and again buyers enjoyed the opportunity to meet face to face with new and regular suppliers. One tiny problem was that more than a few visitors who registered for Pure London thought that they were automatically registered for Scoop which was dealt with admirably by the Scoop organisers. Not a problem next season when Scoop returns to its ‘spiritual’ home at the Saatchi Gallery.
