Taking a Curve to Paris this weekend!

Lidea 2024

Curve Paris aka Salon International de la Lingerie (and indeed previously Mode City) has seen a number of changes in the last 12 months, most signfiicantly its absorption into WSN Fashion ‘Ecosystem’ in 2022.  The emergence of Curve Paris has also been reflected in its portfolio of exhibiting brands with a heavy emphasis on a selective and trendy summer offer, bringing it into line with the Curve events held in New York, Los Angeles and Montreal. The domestic ‘heavyweights’ such as Aubade, Maison Lejaby, Empreinte, Lou, Passionata, Lise Charmel and Simone Pérèle are not in evidence and Chantelle is showing only its new one size swimwear aimed at a younger target market – Chantelle Pulp.  Huit and Louisa Bracq are the two significant French names in attendance. The major brands such as Wacoal, PrimaDonna and Marie Jo, Miraclesuit amongst others have decided to give Curve a miss in the summer season.

Thankfully there are some established brands as well as young designer labels to entice the visitor who makes the effort. From the UK you’ll find Coco de Mer and Playful Promises with the Maryan Beachwear Group (Maryan Mehlhorn, Charmline, Lidea and Watercult) and Lascana from Germany and Italy presents Laetitia swimwear, Raffaela d’Angelo, Pierre Mantoux and Oscalito. American labels, Lenny Niemeyer, Natori & Skarlett Blue will continue to present their 2024 collections at Curve.

If you are on the look out for younger designer or cutting-edge brands there will be plenty to see as Exposed and the concept store featuring accessories, beauty & lifestyle alongside the collections is aimed at showing retailers how to put together a summer kit for 2024. At the heart of these new brands, sustainability is the major challenge. Produce less and better and have long-term engagements, these concerns have become the purpose of these new and innovative brands.

Les Waves – a surfwear brand designed to be fashionable

It is this section of the exhibition that will probably generate most interest with a very broad cross section of swimwear, resortwear, intimate apparel, loungeing and accessories.
