Global colour authority Pantone has announced the naturally robust and earthy wine red Marsala, featured in the latest Fashion Colour Report and a hit on the Spring 2015 runways, is the colour of the year for 2015.
“While captivating PANTONE 18-3224 Radiant Orchid, the 2014 colour of the year, encouraged creativity and innovation, Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.”
Marsala’s impactful, full-bodied qualities make for an elegant statement colour when used on its own or a compelling accent when paired with many other colours such as warmer taupes and grays, amber, umber and golden yellows, greens in both turquoise and teal, and blues in the more vibrant range.
