The new Figleaves AW17 campaign, #AShapeForEveryShape, celebrates women’s varied shapes and sizes and offers the expert fit and support needed to assist in making the wearer feel body confident in their lingerie. As part of the campaign, Figleaves has also spoken to the models about diversity in the fashion industry, body confidence and beauty tips.
“I’ve definitely seen a change in terms of different body shapes, skin colours, ages and interesting looks,” said Soleil Huscher. “I love that you see more diversity in ads, campaigns and TV. Social Media has been a great platform for introducing and sharing more diversity in the fashion world but I do believe there’s still a way to go, especially in the High Fashion world where there’s still a lot of pressure on girls to be very skinny.”
“I’m really over talking about shapes and sizes and straight size and plus size. Why can’t a model just be a model regardless of the size and shape?”, Christine Sofie added. “People tend to have this need to catergorise everything – it’s easier with vegetables and foods – don’t do it with humans, because we are all different. I wish we would stop talking about “plus” as a negative thing.”
