Welcome to Mimi Holliday‘s SS18 party, where all collections are named after cocktails by the mixologists at Mimi HQ. Hand-drawn embroidery mixed with a sprinkling of sheer mesh results in Beau Daquiri, an intoxicating story of red and fuchsia embroidered love hearts. Followed by a shot of Sea Breeze, a concoction of frosty blue lace enhanced by a silver shimmer, topped off with pastel embroidered sea shells and iridescent pearls.
The colour palettes float seamlessly through swathes of cornflour blue in Cosmo Pop, into the fresh mint green blushing rose pink of Platinum Pomme and shimmering ombre hues in Angel Face. Midnight blacks feature throughout, but this season it’s all about the zesty twist. Pearlescent laces in Kamikaze Cracker, archive florals, oversized polka dots and the diamond tulle of Chloe Coco build on traditional styles.
“Just like a cocktail or mocktail, we always love the classics. However, there is always something new that comes along and surprises us, and this is the same for the Mimi collections,” said Designer Damaris Evans. “My passion is to mix it up and reinvent ourselves season upon season.”
