Volcom releases swimwear collection made using recycled fishing nets

by Underlines

Inspired by a long-standing love of the sea, Volcom presents the new Simply Solid Swim collection which centres around the ltalian-made, ocean-friendly swim fabric ECONYL®. Made from lost fishing nets and other discarded nylons up-cycled from the ocean, this 100% recyclable high quality yarn raises the bar for other apparel brands to make responsible decisions that have a positive impact on the environment, creating products with deeper meaning and purpose and collections that are comprised of more than just beautiful patterns.

Volcom is also excited to announce Georgia May Jagger as its new brand ambassador, and the brand new swim campaign features Georgia May together with global surf ambassadors Coco Ho, Quincy Davis, and Maud Le Car. Georgia says: “Volcom’s commitment to sustainability is so close to my heart – I’m focused on celebrating and restoring the ocean and am so excited to work hand-in-hand with the brand to raise awareness of the issue.”

The ocean friendly Simply Solid Swim collection is now available at www.volcom.co.uk and the brand has also created the hashtag #CaughtUpInAGoodThing to include everyone in the conversation about our oceans and sustainability.
