The UK fashion industry is preparing for AW17 to launch at Moda next month. Having bolstered its portfolio across womenswear, menswear, footwear, lingerie, swimwear and accessories, the Birmingham-based trade show will welcome a mix of new and returning labels across all product categories with notable additions including directional womenswear labels Desigual and swimwear brand 5pm Swimwear.
Having expanded over the years to include different product sectors, Moda will once again curate dedicated feature areas to ease navigation for buyers from all sectors. Active will make a welcome return to the show following its debut last season, playing host to leaders in the activewear field including Björn Borg, Acai Activewear and Triaction by Triumph. Moda Edit will also return to both Moda Woman and Moda Gent. First introduced to Woman last year and later rolled out to the menswear sector, Edit is a pared-back area showcasing niche and up-and-coming labels within the wider setting of the UK’s biggest trade show.
Accompanying the industry’s most inspiring product, Moda will go above and beyond the business of buying to deliver an engaging seminar programme this season. Launching as a brand new concept, New Business Tuesday will see the exhibition extend a particularly warm welcome to newly-established retailers with a tailored seminar schedule on the third day of the show. Seminar topics will include “Social media for fashion retailers – the basics”; Rachel Peterman’s “How independent retailers can thrive in their first 12 Months” and “Influencer outreach – the new type of blogger”. Moda will also host engaging seminars throughout the day on Sunday and Monday, alongside its popular catwalk schedule throughout the full three days of the event.
