According to data just released by KPMG, Tesco has the worst record amongst the country’s best known retailers when it comes to paying small suppliers (105 days beyond its normal payment terms). Supermarket chain Iceland and Debenhams take 2nd and 3rd place (75 and 73 days respectively).

On the other end of the scale here are the top 5 well known retailers who take the least amount of time to pay after their stated payment terms:
- Fortnum & Mason (5 days)
- Lidl (9 days)
- House of Fraser (15 days)
- John Lewis Partnership (18 days)
- Boots/Wilkos
