New swimwear brand Marianna G can today announce that it has established itself as the first ever fashion patron of the ocean – with marine positive accreditation from the Going Blue Foundation. The Going Blue Foundation is a charity that sets about righting the many wrongs done to the world’s bodies of water, helping reduce direct and indirect contamination whilst also raising funds for projects.
A brand with a conscience, Marianna G is actively offsetting its ‘aquatrail’ by contributing to the Going Blue Foundation’s ongoing research and also committing to the use of environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes. From using high quality fabrics with less Lycra, to production methods that require less water, Marianna G is taking vital steps towards a cleaner ocean.
“The fabrics I design with are sourced from Italy and have the ‘Confidence in Textiles’ certification. This means they are tested for harmful substances and dye leaching which can harm the natural balance of lakes, rivers and oceans and all the living organisms, including us, which subsist in or near them. A few small changes in the way we work make the world of difference.” says the brand designer Marianna Goulandris.
Marianna’s debut collection is available at mariannagswimwear.com, Avenue 32 and the resorts One and Only Palmilla in Mexico and Reethi Ra in the Maldives. RRP start from £110.
