For those who can’t make it to Brasil this summer, The Grill from Ipanema will offer food and drink lovers, families and sun seekers the opportunity to soak up a slice of Rio beach life at Covent Garden’s Piazza until July 13th. Put together by the creators of Cabana, Brasilian barbecue restaurant along with their friends from Ipanema flip flops, The Grill from Ipanema will serve up the unique flavours of Brasil in its very own beach grill.
On offer is a selection of new Cabana dishes, including flame grilled skewers, chicken coxinhas and cassava chips, while refreshments from Rio come in the form of caipirinhas and batidas, whisked in the beach bar into various fruity concoctions.
During the day, The Grill from Ipanema plays host to Brasil’s iconic beach game ‘frescobol’ as beach goers are invited to spectate and try on some Ipanema flip flops for an authentic Rio vibe. As with any Brasilian beach, expect a string of one off events throughout the days, from cooking masterclasses to samba workshops.
