Tu Clothing today announced the launch of its brand-new premium lingerie range fronted by newly appointed brand ambassador Ashley James. The collection, which caters for sizes 32A – 42GG, was inspired by the mum, TV presenter and DJ. As a champion of body positivity and feeling confident, especially for those with larger cup sizes, Ashley James was the driving force behind the creation of the collection, which is designed to be premium but also functional for all shapes and sizes. The unique array of pieces culminate in a luxurious but affordable collection starting at just £8, with details including lace fabrications, lurex details and metal work trims.
The average bra size in the UK has risen to a 36D in recent years, with over 57% of women in the UK now wearing a D cup size or larger. Tu’s Boudoir Lingerie Collection is designed to ensure that women of all shapes and sizes can buy luxurious, empowering, and supportive lingerie that is affordable and great quality. The supermarket clothing brand is also set to make 80% of its lingerie offering DD+ by the end of 2023.
The collection, inspired by 1920s and ‘30s Parisian boudoirs, offers the support of underwiring and comfort of thicker straps without compromising on style. The range, featuring a rich colour palette of scarlet, mint and nude, includes matching bra and knickers for just £25, complemented by suspenders and a satin nightgown.
Commenting on her latest project, Tu’s brand ambassador Ashley James said: “As someone who’s always had DD and above cup sizes, it is exciting for me to work on an inclusive, affordable collection that is accessible for all. Everyone should be able to wear sexy and empowering lingerie, and that doesn’t need to change just because you’re a DD+. This new range offers women with larger boob sizes the chance to combine comfort with sexiness!”
Emma Benjafield, Director of Product at Tu Clothing, commented: “Customers are looking to invest in more luxury lingerie as they move away from the loungewear options that were so popular in the pandemic. With the average bra size having increased in recent years, we wanted to ensure we’re offering our customers products that are suited to their size whilst ensuring they feel empowered and comfortable in the lingerie they’re wearing. Ashley regularly speaks out about the issues she has faced in the past as a DD+ woman shopping for luxury lingerie and so we couldn’t wait to team up with her on this new collection!”
