Third and final year students at world-famous De Montfort University’s Contour Fashion Course were set a design project in collaboration with Lounge Underwear.
The brief set by Lounge was to design a range of products for S/S ’22, a collection of six outfits, with the ‘hero’ outfit being constructed. Students were asked to consider sustainable design principles, reduction of wastage, new consumer trends that have arisen as a result of Covid-19, and to look at the use of innovative fabrications.
Issey Priddey was the winner of the overall competition, and has also secured an internship with Lounge.
To build onto LOUNGE’s already impressive #FEELYOURBREAST campaign, I gathered the opinions
of those who have undergone breast surgery and aimed to design post-mastectomy friendly lingerie as well as accessible lingerie for those with mobility issues. Within these designs various SDG’s were tackled including ‘reduced inequalities’and ‘responsible consumption and production’to meet
with LOUNGE’s sustainability goals.” Issy Priddey
Second place was awarded to Megan White, and third place to Min Kim.
Commendations went to Sonica Signey and Disha Lulla.
