The Mey Spring/Summer 2021 collection oozes pure joie de vivre in its colour palette and designs with an exotic feel. The global lockdowns have made people more aware of the impact of our actions on the environment and there is a real movement towards the sustainable use of resources and environmentally friendly production processes. Many fabrics used in the daywear and nightwear ranges have come straight from the Mey knitting mill in the Swabian Alb and a lot of work goes into ensuring that as little ground as possible is covered when creating products.
A deep longing for natural, earthy tones continues to be a major trend, and these shades are combined with fresh colours like lime, raspberry and all kinds of tones of blue that reflect the unique hue of the ocean. Neutral tones such as white, Champagne, new pearl and secco add a touch of light, while shades inspired by make-up are also at the heart of the collection.
The luxurious and sophisticated Lovestory loungewear segment is once again the star of the collection alongside the Poetry and Colette haute couture lingerie segment. Statement floral prints wow in fresh, bright shades and an abstract watercolour style, and the digital printing technology allows the colours to really pop on luxurious modal in the jersey segment and on silk/viscose in the weaved fabric segment.
The Night2Day smart casual loungewear segment inspires exotic dreams that will make you long for holidays to far-flung destinations, while the ‘Sweet Dreams’ segment adds a small yet chic capsule collection with mix & match nightwear, and the new Zzzleepwear range features a special ceramic print on the inside that has been proven to help you get a relaxing and rejuvenating night’s sleep. The plated fabric has COOLMAX® fibres on the inside to help regulate your body temperature and a thin layer of cotton on the outside to give it a natural feel, and the range also includes a sleep-inducing podcast which can be accessed with a Spotify code.
