Colette Zacca, who went viral at Notting Hill Carnival earlier this month after busting some moves in front of thousands of revellers, is back. The original ‘Dancing Granny’ was invited by comfy underwear brand sloggi to be part of their 40th anniversary celebrations and star in a re-make of 90s smash hit ‘Baby Got Back’ to launch a brand-new revamp of the brand’s bestselling ‘79’ Maxi Cut underwear. The stars aligned on the collaboration, with ‘Original Granny’ living and breathing the sloggi ethos of championing women to flaunt their bodies in comfort and style.
A sloggi spokesperson, said: “For 40 years, sloggi has been the headline act in promoting positive body image for women through creating comfortable and stylish underwear. When we spotted dancing granny, signing her up was a no-brainer and credit to the team for producing an ad to be proud of in double quick time. Colette’s liberating attitude towards celebrating your body regardless of age, shape or size makes her the perfect front-woman for sloggi, and the new launch of our iconic Maxi Cut underwear.”
Colette adds: “I’m still in denial that this is all happening, and that so many people have seen my dance moves. After two hip replacements, I never thought I’d dance again, let alone be signed by sloggi. The brand has been a joy to work with, and I’m really proud of the work we’re making. It took me a while to gain the confidence I have now, so I hope the campaign inspires others to feel the same – just confident, comfortable and happy with their bodies, in their own skin.”
