Spring/Summer 2019 sees Violet & Wren explore the concept of romance and its aesthetic in a digital and image saturated culture. Taking stylistic reference from the British Regency Period, the label examines an era often perceived as the epitome of our rose-tinted view of romance re-imagining this period through millennial eyes.
Rich, Regency upholstery influences combine with simple, pure flower motifs in a modern take of Georgian textile design. Feathery, bucolic grasses and vines sit alongside English country garden flowers in clean, digital pastels, monochrome stripes, inverted fern mix and match with sculptural black and ivory lace detailing to bring a new sense of classicism. Key regency tones of pink, peach, green and blue are re-invented with a digital neon hues and are contrasted with bright tangerine and smokey anthracite for a modern vibe.
This season also sees the introduction of the Resort collection where gauzy, silk cotton voiles are updated with modern detailing and photographic, digital prints with vibrant neon hues. The delicate pieces compliment a curated swimwear capsule of feminine reversible bikinis and sleek one-pieces, each item thoughtfully designed to uphold the brand’s philosophy of unique, artisan loungewear pieces which can be re-mixed into a daywear wardrobe.
