Fashion Retail Academy open new campus – Electra House

by Underlines

Fashion Retail Academy Patron, Lord Rose, along with senior figures from British retail, the press, government, alumni, and local businesses were in attendance at the opening of new campus area, Electra House, last week.

The Fashion Retail Academy (FRA) is a unique, industry-led college located in the heart of London. Founded by fashion and retail giants in a pioneering partnership to bridge the gap between post-16 education and the working skills the industry needs, it offers a range of specialist fashion courses from Level 2 to Postgraduate, including online courses and apprenticeships. Since 2005, the FRA has produced over 15,000 job-ready graduates with the practical skills to succeed within the fashion and retail workplace. FRA alumni from its first cohort in 2005 are now senior professionals in brands such as Browns, Fat Face and Net-A-Porter, and FRA graduates can be found working in almost every major fashion brand in the UK.

The FRA works with more than 250 brands to deliver the highest quality of teaching and learning opportunities to its students. Courses are designed in consultation with industry partners to meet the specific demands of the sector and match employer expectations, helping FRA graduates to secure the best jobs.

Electra House is an iconic Grade II listed building located on Moorgate in London. Boasting a £50m purpose-designed fit out, the new campus represents the FRA’s single largest investment in the future of its unique industry-led education model since its founding, and offers double the student capacity of its previous building to help meet demand for its fashion business-focused courses.

Spanning eight floors, Electra House will feature 35 multi-purpose classrooms, six lecture theatres, dedicated studio spaces, expansive workspaces, collaborative study areas, an extensive library, and vibrant social spaces including an on-site café and an indoor ‘secret garden.’ The new campus allows the FRA to introduce new courses, address the industry’s most pressing skills demands, and foster greater collaborations with industry partners.
