Mey brand relaunch planned for AW21

by Underlines

In line with the strategic further development of the brand, Mey is set to undergo the most comprehensive brand relaunch in 30 years. Mey has developed a completely new corporate design which includes not only a modern, forward-looking logo, but also a new brand slogan and revamped packaging.

The new brand slogan – Speaking Quality – reflects the DNA of the brand. Ever since the company was founded in 1928, one thing has always driven Mey – passion and the pursuit of the best possible quality, through constant testing and improvement, accuracy in all production steps, and the responsible use of resources and of the people producing this quality by hand. The slogan Speaking Quality now places this claim to quality at the centre of all corporate communication to a much greater degree than before.

“We want to communicate our claim to quality even more clearly in future: uncompromising quality that can be felt and experienced with every single one of our products. This is once again clearly emphasised by our new brand slogan – Speaking Quality,” said Matthias Mey, Managing Partner of the Mey Group.

The new logo is the centrepiece of the brand’s revamped corporate design, representing a departure from the progressive sans serif look and paying tribute to the company’s history and craftsmanship. The reduced serif with cut-out effects, like those that are naturally created when you embroider a typeface on a textile fabric, embodies the mixture of textile structure as well as the detailed, subtle nature of the serif.

The new packaging offers the retailer and the customer considerable added value and transparency – alongside a series-specific colour-coding system and USP icons, additional information will also be integrated such as certification seals and a QR code offering insights into the production chain and functions of the garment. The use of plastic is also being further reduced, and in the future classic product ranges will no longer be delivered in poly bags, but in FSC-certified cardboard boxes with high recycling content.
