Brown Thomas Dublin and Arnotts re-open their doors today (10th June) with Brown Thomas’ other branches in Cork, Limerick and Galway opening on 11th June (both stores closed on 18th March).
The shopping experience will have changed dramatically with ‘pods’ separating the different store sections to ensure social distance. Capacity in store will be limited to 450 (Brown Thomas) and 1,150 (Arnotts) so a restricted number of customers will be permitted to enter any one pod at any given time and shoppers will not be able to move between the pods. However, customers will be able to pre-book visits into the stores via the Brown Thomas and Arnotts websites with walk-in visits to be facilitated via a queuing system if necessary. Similarly, customers can join a queue ‘virtually’ and receive a text message when they are at the top of the virtual queue and can enter the store. Fitting rooms will be open and all clothing will be steam and sanitised if it is tried on.
There will be a free same-day home delivery service for customers who buy some larger items, to avoid them bringing them on to public transport and potentially into contact with the wider public, while a new click & collect area has been set up in the Brown Thomas Dublin car park so customers can remain in their car to collect their purchases.
Donald McDonald, Managing Director of Brown Thomas Arnotts, said that customers will experience some differences in how things are done as we ensure the highest safety and hygiene standards are adhered to. “But we are confident that our customers will enjoy the new innovations that we have introduced, which will make their shopping experience as seamless and enjoyable as ever,” Mr McDonald added.
