As the UK Government advises people to wear face masks on public transport and while shopping to help control the spread of Covid-19, HanesBrands, parent company of Shock Absorber, Wonderbra, Champion and Playtex, is announcing its new production of the now essential protection wear. HanesBrands has already produced over 100 million face masks globally and although not suitable for medical use, tests carried out by a French laboratory indicate that the design offers 98% filtration of three-micron particles after 30 washes at 60 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is more ecological than one-way masks as it is less bio-hazardous if washed before recycling, and as a result more cost effective too.
Heather Nogueira, Sales and Marketing Director, HanesBrands UK said: “There are a number of companies advertising face masks on social media in every colour – some with sparkling accessories too! This is not the time for people to be trying to make a fashion statement. Instead we want people to choose quality credentials over design and colour. Our team is producing millions of face masks with the same eye on technology and performance as we’ve always applied to our consumer facing brands.”
The new face masks from HanesBrands are made from 100% breathable 3-ply cotton which is gentler on the skin. Available from 10th June on shockabsorber.co.uk in packs of five.
