As fashion trends for Spring 2021 are even more diverse, from overly fancy to austere, Pongees have put together a collection combining fabrics that cater to both sides of the spectrum. For the new season, Pongees is not only offering its largest range of colours and fabrics – with more twills and jerseys added to the mix – but also a new bespoke dyeing service with low minimums for customers that want an exclusive shade.
In the lingerie collection it’s colour all the way for designs that are bright, often unconventional and somewhat louche. Designers are very inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead, when revellers don funky makeup and costumes, hold parades and parties and make offerings to lost loved ones. Loungewear is languorously naughty, relaxed, beautifully feminine and delicate, inspired by faded luxury, pallid pastels and vintage ‘20s and ‘30s.
- The fabrics: High performance with tensile strength such as stretch tulle and canasta sheen satin; stretch crepe de chine, water washed crepe de chine and water washed georgette, spun sand-washed, hammered satin and shimmering twills. Cool natural cotton laces, large floral motifs and 3D effects, self-coloured jacquards and damasks in neutral, natural hues as well as monochrome black on white or white on black.
- The colours: Calypso tones: acid yellow, blood red, azure blues, exotic and intoxicating, intensified with the accents of sultry charcoal and black; plus cream, old rose, vanilla, eau de nil.
Pongees is also now representing Sanmartin in the UK, so customers can select beautiful laces and other fancy fabrics from this leading Portuguese supplier. The full Pongees and Sanmartin collections can be seen at the Pongees London showroom.
