British sock connoisseur Pantherella has joined forces with world renowned department store Selfridges in its ‘Buying Better’ initiative. The store believes that modern living shouldn’t cost the earth and therefore strives to sell clothing that are made sustainably and can be worn with pride. These ethics are mirrored by Pantherella, with styles sustainably produced using organic cotton and available in nine colourways: black, grey, camel, navy, denim, bright blue, green, red and pink.
Selfridges is also working towards selling more British made products. Since its prime, the British textile industry has faced a steep decline, meaning between 1979 and 2013 the number of jobs in fabric production fell by 90%. Supporting British industry is vital for the Pantherella International Group, who has been producing socks in its Leicester factory 1937.
