With Valentine’s Day only a couple of weeks away, lingerie brand Boux Avenue have released some interesting findings on the sales of saucy suspender sets. In terms of consumer behaviour, the statistics show a distinctive buying pattern in the run up to key events, such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day and demonstrate the longstanding popularity of these lingerie items. Boux Avenue saw steady growth in suspender belt sales throughout 2018, finishing the year with a huge 176% increase from October.
2018 sales of suspenders totalled over £1.3m and Boux Avenue sees clear spikes in suspender sales during February and November compared to the rest of the year, implying that customers do indulge in “sexier” lingerie sets for Valentine’s Day and Christmas. When breaking down suspender sales by region, London is a clear hot spot with 23% of total suspender sales.
