Located in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, Latvia has long made significant contributions to the fields of textiles and lingerie manufacture (lingerie production beginning in 1950 but with a massive growth rate in the 1990s when Latvia separated from Russia. Last week hosted the region hosted the 4th Lingerie Forum in Liepaja to further enhance the country’s reputation as a leading force in lingerie manufacturing in Europe, with leading company Lauma Fabrics (part of the European Lingerie Group which includes Elastic Fabrics, Felina and Dessus-Dessous).

Rapid growth in the last 15-20 years has been assured by manufacturers’ investment in modern, progressive technologies. The Lingerie Forum has been organised by Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the Association of Latvian Lingerie Manufacturers (Latvera). This year the event attracted visitors and guests from Israel and Japan as well as the main European markets.
