Jennifer Truepenny-Hobson (1963-2018): A Tribute

by Underlines

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Jennifer Truepenny-Hobson on Sunday 26th August 2018, when she died peacefully at home. She will be sorely missed by her husband Rick, mother Freda and her nephews having been very ill for a short time.

After having gained a degree in clothing studies at the Lincoln College of Art and Manchester Polytechnic, she started her career in the Anglian Regional Co-op in January 1987 but within a few years she went to work for Warners and later Iduna UK as sales representative.

By 2002 Jenny became a self-employed sales agent and worked for many established companies and brands throughout the country – Paul Fashion (Trasparenze, Sielei, Verdissima…), Slenderella, Naturana, Pretty Polly and most latterly Gossard/Berlei and Sapph & Curvy Kate. She had vast experience in lingerie, nightwear and swimwear and although modest, she was well known and hugely respected by numerous customers throughout her territory, becoming friends with many.

She loved travel, spending as much time as possible with her husband at her holiday home in Cyprus and most recently, also in a caravan and then motor home. Her interests were wide including reading, cinema, theatre, gardening and she had a real talent for cooking. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her well but particularly her loving husband, Rick.
