New intelligence about colour could help brands calculate the success of seasonal shades and reduce online returns. Thorsten Traugott from Coloro will tell delegates at the ASBCI’s Digital Revolution conference how colour science is the next revolution for fashion and textiles and how brands can create and build on-trend collections with a distinctive colour identity that appeal to different consumer groups.

Furthering delegates’ understanding of their customers, digital psychology expert Andrew Nicholson from GUkU will put human behaviour under the microscope and examine the evolution of customer behaviour and unconscious thinking in the digital world. These insights will be delivered against the background of a comprehensive overview of the online fashion marketplace from Sofie Willmott from Global Data, who will highlight key trends online from the rise of delivery saver schemes to the growing popularity of the online marketplace and what these developments means for retailers. She will touch on the influence of social media on the consumers’ ‘see now, buy now’ mentality as well as focusing on innovations such as AI and voice-assisted selling.

Meanwhile, Emily Robertson-Hood from Alvanon will address what works and what doesn’t in terms of digital technologies for addressing the complex fit challenges faced by the fashion industry. Alvanon will share insights into what is working now and what is coming in the future based on extensive collaborations with global clients, touching on how to successfully implement new strategies and technologies such as customisation, AI, and VR.

The shift to digital supply chain strategies will be addressed by Dr Mike Fralix from TC², who will explain why digital and robotics technologies and processes that are integrated across continents will underpin the success of tomorrow’ industry leaders. From mass customisation and the global drivers for manufacturing automation to robotics systems, 3D printing and additive manufacturing, Dr Fralix will explain how technology is driving the evolution of Industry 4.0 and how the traditional supply chain is being disrupted by a new generation of consumer. In addition, find out about the digital supply chain solution for omni-channel retailers from Advanced Supply Chain, while Coats will discuss digital end-to-end solutions and how these can help to harness and control the flow of information in the supply chain to deliver competitive advantages.

These are just some of the essential insights lined up for the ASBCI conference Digital Revolution – virtually taking over fashion. The conference will be hosted by Dr Julie King, head of fashion for Northampton University and ASBCI event director. The conference takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 3 May.  Registration is from 9am and places can be booked via the ASBCI:  www.asbci.co.uk – 01422 354666 – asbcioffice@asbci.co.uk.
