Family-run company and women’s lingerie and swimwear specialist Anita has moved into its new company premises at its headquarters in Brannenburg, Germany. The three-storey new build provides an extension to the existing head office and it was designed to the highest standards in terms of ecology and energy efficiency. Construction work began on the approximately 8,000-square-metre complex back in March 2016 after a decision was made to extend the existing building, which had become a little too snug for the around 300 employees currently working there.
The new build was designed to fit in with the architectural style typical of Upper Bavaria, yet with a modern and functional twist and using materials such as concrete and steel alongside wood. All of the offices have direct access to balconies which run around the outside of the building, while lavish glass fronts inside the building let in even more light. The centre of the building is made up of spacious communication zones to encourage spontaneous chats between colleagues and the new complex also incorporates storage and meeting room areas.
The space has been divided in a way that places various organisational units near each other, thus optimising the company’s business processes, and local suppliers were chosen wherever possible as well as using a high-end insulation and HVAC installations to ensure optimal and eco-friendly energy efficiency. “We have incorporated the highest energy standards for industrial buildings throughout the entire building,” says Markus Reheis, Facility Manager at Anita. “We generate our own electricity thanks to a photovoltaic installation on the roof and any accumulated heat loss is fed through a heat recovery system or into the buffer tank. The solar energy is harnessed by a solar thermal system, which reduces the need for heating fuels.”
