ISpy! Walls of Benin Loungewear

by Underlines

Created by Manchester born fashion and textiles entrepreneur CK Atanga, Walls of Benin launches a new collection of African luxury loungewear marking a new direction for the up and coming brand. The new product marks a departure from previous collections, and following the 6 figure funding received from the Lunan family of the Fiorelli brand the company now produces its own prints and fabrics in Portugal using Silk and Tencel®.

Walls of Benin has also launched a female line for the first time and plans to offer larger sizes based on early consumer feedback and a desire to be more inclusive. The star of the collection is a limited edition set of PJs for men, which the company believes to be the most expensive and most ethical loungewear in the world.

“The limited edition is modelled on the very first sample I ever made in Ghana,” said CK Atanga. “That sample was by no means perfect, but it was the perfect representation of a big idea and vision. So many good things have happened because of that sample – that sample got me a 6 figure investment from the Portuguese government.”

Appropriately named Lucky Charm, the limited edition PJ set was launched to underline that Africa can now be synonymous with luxury. This new step marks an upswing for the brand, which has slowly been building a solid foundation and recognition for its distinctive voice in the market and dedication to design and high ethics.
