Ann Summers is the most searched-for lingerie brand in the UK while Victoria’s Secret enjoys the most social engagement, a new report has revealed. The biannual Lingerie Market Digital Insight Report, produced by Inside Online, ranks 30 of the top UK websites within the market and reveals the successes and shortcomings of each website, highlighting where there is room for improvement. Brands that have seen excellent results are Bondara, UK Tights and La Senza, enjoying considerable growth in their SEO visibility year-on-year. In contrast, brands whose online performance has stagnated include Boux Avenue, Triumph UK and Harmony Store.
The report includes a Brand Reach Score, referring to a combination of brand search volume and owned social score – in other words, the effectiveness of content performance across social channels – to rank a brand’s online oomph. While Ann Summers is the most searched-for lingerie brand in the UK with 823k monthly searches, its comparatively low owned social score of 954 means that it ranks second in the Brand Reach Score standings, topped by Victoria’s Secret with 450k monthly searches and owned social score of over 131k.
Links are still one of the most important ranking factors in 2017, however high link volumes without link quality could spell trouble ahead. The Lingerie Market Digital Insight Report reveals that Victoria’s Secret is ranked at number one when it comes to link authority, with a good number of quality referring domains, while Nasty Dress has a high volume of referring links but the average link is of poor quality.
