To enable customers to create cohesive colour stories across their designs, Pongees have doubled the range of colours available in its stretch crepe and heavy satin crepe qualities and announce there are now over 100 shades of habotai available.
“With lingerie sales on the increase, designers can now match exactly bra and knickers with their camisoles and kimonos”, says managing director Will Steele. “When economic times are uncertain, there is a tendency to become nostalgic for more prosperous bygone days. As such Pongees’ autumn/winter 2017/8 season is full of fabrics that evoke the skills and crafts of yesteryear as well as those in rich, warm tones to complement the more traditional neutral and pastel shades usually preferred by designers.”
There are satins in rich deep reds and rusts, chiffons and georgettes in faded hues of old rose and antique jade. For daywear and occasionwear luxurious velvets and metallics appear, while exquisite damasks and brocades give a folkish feel for the modern bride. Pongees will be showing at the next edition of the Textile Forum in October.
