An in-depth preview of 2017 beachwear trends will be given at the ninth edition of Maredamare, the Italian beachwear trade show being held on July 23-25 in Florence, in collaboration with trend researchers 5FORECASTORE. Four key themes are featured in the forecast: Bourgeoise, Flamboyant, Impression and Survivalist.
Bourgeoise will introduce a genuine femininity, mixing a sexy and sophisticated attitude with a more relaxed, light-hearted charm and a pop touch. The mood stems from the French high-society scenario with garden and poolside parties, as typical of the burgeois camping environment.
Flamboyant instead reflects the longing for spontaneity, going against the standardized fashion to deliver a happy, lively and exuberant combination of materials, colours and prints. Inspired by the spirit and energy of the countries in the Southern hemisphere, this trend also sees DIY art, creative recycling and the richness of the handmade recover ancestral techniques and primitive graphic patterns.
Impression has originated from the idea of psycho-physical wellness: serenity will be the new state of mind that will encourage a more modern and active lifestyle. The human skin is the basic element for a style that comes closer and closer to the underwear and sportswear universe, while generating a hybrid between underwear and swimwear, something like “swintimates”. The four senses are explored along with a special attention devoted to the biological nature of things and the sea plays a big part in this trend with its game of lights and shadows.
And then the going will get tough with Survivalist, a fancy, futuristic and artificial ambiance inspired by water. The designs look into the future, the sea and its mysterious depth to be explored.
