This autumn’s edition of fashion fabric exhibition Textile Forum (15-16 October 2014, One Marylebone, London) will be presenting its most diverse range of high quality collections for the designer market, from both UK and overseas mills, since the show was launched in 2002.
“We have sold out the autumn show and have a waiting list,” says Textile Forum co-founder and organiser Linda Laderman. ”There’s certainly very strong interest from fabric suppliers to tap into the designer sector as the economy picks up. This is coming both from companies whose main business is with haute couture and top end designers and also from mills that have previously only produced long runs for the larger retailers and brands, who are now creating specific ranges with a low minimum option.”
Among the new exhibitors are: Standeven, wool suitings and coatings woven in Bradford; Darquer, Calais lace (pictured on the left); Leicester-based Shahtex with fabrics for leisurewear, activewear and sportswear; Forest Digital, specialist printers; British Alpaca Fashion Company and Ecoluxe London, supporters of ecological and sustainable fabrics, such as cork.
